The ancient tea horse road brought puerh tea from Yunnan to the rest of the Asian world. Tea and other goods were actively traded on these routes for more than a thousand years.
Lamu’s grandfather traded tea on the tea horse road during his youth. He moved tea and goods from Lijiang to Shangri-La and back. We take you along the routes he used in the 1930’s and give you a small peek into the life of a tea trader.
